Should there be this much movement on my X / Y?

Hello,

After attempting to CNC site contour models, I keep encountering the same issue.

Where contours should be made of smooth curves, the surface appears to have 'teeth' or 'squiggles' across most lines, I have highlighted in red the worst examples.

Having tried different drill bits thickness' and speeds etc with no change, I am getting a bit lost as to what the problem is, although when watching it work, I noticed that the machine seems to have a bit of a judder when changing directions.

Once the job had completed, I turned it off and felt that their seems to be some give/wobble, whereby the wheels can move forward and backward by about 3mm, I have attached a video with sound below to show the movement.

Should the WorkBee have this kind of looseness to it? Should I tighten it somehow? I inherited this machine at my new work place (colleague who set it up has left over a year ago). I would appreciate any advice or link to a guide on getting the correct tension on this axis, and whether this could be impacting the accuracy of my router.

Thank you very much in advance anyone that can help!

Alistair

Z Depth changes mid job.

I am running a G code on my WorkBee from a wifi Duet 2 contoller. On one G code, for a parallel cut, the Z depth strangely steps down by about 6.7mm after 1500 lines into the program and carries on at this new depth?

To try to resolve this, I set up the job again in Fusion and ran a simulation, this appears to be fine.

I then had a look at the code in G Code viewer, which appears fine also and shows no glitches.

I have now run the job again and the same happened at the same point in the job?

Can anyone advise please as this is starting to make face twitch?

Configuring Z probe pins on Duet 3 6hc

Hello!

I am using the Ooznest Control software to control a V1 Engineering lowrider cnc-machine, using the Duet 3 6HC control board, as it is superior to the default Duet DWC. It seems to work fine so far, but when trying to configure the pins for my z axis touchplate, the only endstop pin options available are the X, Y, Z, E0 and E1 pins, which are available on the Duet 2 board but not on the Duet 3 6HC. How could I go about modifying the code of the Oozenest Control Software to have the correct pin options for my board? On the 6hc the endstop pins have been renamed to generic IO_(number) pins as per this pinout.

Thanks in advance.

Is it possible to "scan" a 3D object with workbee?

When doing my last software upgrade I saw in the reprap software that it now has sensor input for measuring the height of an object (I think if I understood correctly). Make sme wonder if I could use a type of touch sensor (not the z probe) , maybe using pressure or light to determine points over an object and scan part of a 3D model. For example, I have a Boat hull for a model that is too large and I want to scale down and then carve. It's a hugely complex shape and it would save me an age if I could scan it. I've tried photogrammetry with zero success.
