Post processor for the Workbee?

Hi,

I’m using Aspire 9.514 with my Workbee and currently use the “Grbl (mm) (*.gcode)” post processor. It works fine but, has the annoying habit of using unsupported M codes in the toolpaths (e.g. M2) and consequently I receive an error code when running it. I can edit the toolpaths to remove the unwanted codes, but would rather they weren’t added in the first place!

So my question is “Is there is a specific post processor available for the Workbee”, If so how do I get it and install it?

Many thanks to anyone who can help.

Adjusting eccentric spacers on Y-axis after assembly complete?

Hi everyone.

I’ve been using my new Workbee Z1 for a few days now and just noticed only 2 top wheels on the left Y-carriage are rotating when travelling up & down the (left) Y-axis extrusion. The other top 2 wheels are not making contact/rotating nor are all 4 bottom wheels. I assume I just need to tighten up/adjust the eccentric spacers but these are positioned on the bottom pair of wheels where there is no room to get my hand & the (tiny) spanner on to the spacers between the underside of the carriage and the bench the machine is attached to. Any advice? Many thanks in advance. Best. Andy

I can’t get Extrusion B to screw up with the second bolt; the hole in the Y carriage and a threaded hole in extrusion do not match at one end; if I reverse extrusion B, it does work, but then I have a problem with the other Y carriage and get the same problem, this would point to Extrusion B being wrong.
crude contours after finishing pass

I have been trying to cut a 3D head using a Machine Relief toolpath in Carveco software. I carried out the roughing cut (1/4" ball end) and then the finishing cut (1/16" ball end). The end result was far from satisfactory as it still has very pronounced ridges/contours and lost much of the detail of the original model (not like the smooth examples I see in tutorials). It would seem to me that further sanding would just make it lose it's form altogether. So my questions are:

1 What is the standard procedure here? Is there a particular tool I can use to get such an intricate surface smooth?

2 As one needs to change router bits in this procedure - what is the standard way of making the z values match (as one may protrude from the collet more). I have a corner probe but it seems a bit erratic.

Than you,
