When will current firmware be upgraded?

When might we expect a newer version of firmware to replace 3.3.0-1.2?

I am hoping that any upgrade might fix the issue where the job progress bar shows incorrect progress / time to go.

Is this issue likely to be rectified?

repeating lines in carving - z axis losing steps

I just finished setting up my workbee and when using the end mill the finish and calibration seems spot on. However, when I did a carving test I'm getting a regularly repeating line that looks like the z axis is skipping. I made sure everything was tight and still happening. Different files and cam softwares produce the same result. any ideas? Thanks for the help.

Unable to access web interface after update to config.g.override

To connect an emergency stop I addied the following to config-user-settings.g:

; Configure Software Emergency Stop
M950 J1 C"!e1stop" ; Configure Pin
M581 P1 T0 S0 ; Configure External Emergency Stop
M582 T0 ; Check External Trigger

After a reboot, the web interface shows an orange button centre screen that says press to restart.

And that’s it!

I cannot access the web interface to try and reverse the change.

I can connect using YAT but have no idea if I can use YAT to fix this.

Any suggestions?

Add text label to the Work Coordinates Selection

Hi all,

Is there a way to add Text labels to the drop down Work Coordinates selection ?

Numbers 1 to 9 are not much help & I would like to program offsets for things like Tool Change position or Maximium Limits and have them named rather than try to remember which offset number i used.

I don’t think there is looking at the G10 command but maybe someone knows a trick or two ?

Mafell 1/4" collet not allowing 1/4" shank bit to fit!

Hi!

I've got the mafell mf1000 and just switched out to a 1/4” collet. Can't seem to fit any bits of 1/4” shank. Am I missing something? Or possibly a faulty collet?

Ooznest Z1+ 1500x1500 Y-Axis Problem

I have been using my machine successfully for the past few weeks but all of the sudden the Y-axis will remain up front but thinks it is homed. I cannot even jog it back as it thinks it is already there and won’t allow any movement at all. Zero problems until this randomly happened. I’ve tried restarting the machine and manually jogging it with the controller but to no avail.

Error: G0/G1: target position outside machine limits

Having spent 5+ hours trying to resolve this I wondered if anyone can help. I keep getting this error message on a variety of Fusion gcode files. The retract height in the Fusion cam is only 5mm so I dont think thats the issue. The homing all goes fine as does the Go To Work Zero so I dont think its the limit switches. I had removed the spindle recently so that might be an issue but I've tried it in a variety of positions in its cradle and that hasnt helped. Any thoughts?

Hardware version list and changes

Is there a document somewhere that says when the various HW versions of the Workbee were released and what changes were made?

I purchased my kit in Aug 2019 which I ‘think’ is a V1.0 and looking to upgrade from a 750*1000 to 1500*1000. So need to know the differences and what I can upgrade too (and what needs purchasing).

Troubleshoot after upgrading the firmware

Hi everyone,

I’ve have a former version of workbee cnc machine (1000x1000 screw driven)

I have a trouble issue with my duet 2 board and needed to reboot it and it was the time to update the last firmware (v3.3.0-1.2 ) on the board.

The problem is that I can’t home the machine.

The y motors are not synchronised ( one motors is turn to the opposite way)
The z can go down but can’t go up
If the drill is in the middle of the table, the Z axis is going down, otherwise if I put manually the machine to position 0,0,0 and I clicked on home all, the machine is shaking.

G Code Viewer Not Previewing in Chrome?

My G Code Viewer is not previewing in google chrome?

Yesterday it was fine and i’ve changed nothing since , just tested in Microsoft edge browser and its working fine.

checking the chrome browser errors using f12 i get this

Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (file not found)

vue.runtime.esm.js:1888 Error: WebGL not supported

is just strange chrome is saying not found but edge loads it?

Already tightened couplers and reseted the steps to back to normal.

Hi how do T get the workbee to pause so I can change the tools for the finishing pass etc

I use Fusion 360 for design and tool paths, have two set ups but will not pause to allow for tool change. (750 belt workbee.)

Tramming and squaring the spindle

Hi, is there an official method for tramming the spindle ? I have a Mafell one and the 43mm 3d printed adapter that is needed to fit the standard router mount of the workbee isn’t really flat and it’s relative flexibility doesn't allow for a repeatable positioning of the spindle.

I am trying to square it around the Y axis using the 4 screws of the router mount, but I find it hard to fine tune it. For the X axis, I was considering shimming between the router mount and the Z axis C-beam, but I also consider trying to rotate the whole X c-beam on its mounting plates. What do you recommend ?

How do I know when the machine or firmware needs an update.

I haven’t updated anything since I got the machine. I have just totally forgotton about it. I recently had to upgrade my computers so I got to thinking about if the machine or duet or anything else needed to be updated. If so, what do I need to do and how? I had the machine since June of 2019.

Feed and speed and breaking bits

Hi guys, I’m relatively new to the CNC world and have been struggling to get a consistent profile cut through 18mm melamine faced MDF.Im using the Z1+ with the Mafell milling motor and Carveco Maker as the design software.I have recently broken a 1/4 Amana Down cut bit after reducing the feed rate from 70ipm to 50ipm ( 18000 rpm ) although I’m unsure wether or not the stress may have been caused prior to this reduction.Im also finding that when I use a 1/4” compression bit , the bit is being pulled from the machine. The machine is also making a loud screeching sound , however i’m not sure if this is normal or not.Has anyone got any experience cutting this material that can offer me advice on what speed , feed and bit I need to be looking at.Also, should I be altering the recommended rates for the end mills in the Carveco Maker software to suit the Workbee ? Thanks.

Folks is the Workbee Web Interface Software public on Github?

I have built a pendant with Paneldue and rotary encoder and want to implement some more functions like Pause. I want to look at how The Web Interface does it so I can clone the G-Code commands and not make any mistakes.
