Parametric G code programming continued

Hi Robert

To test if I can use a parametric G-Code file with WorkBee Control 3.3.0 - V1.2 I have tried to upload a file that should declare a global variable but I get “Error—-meta command: unknown variable “. I did add a simple G Code instruction as a second line and this works fine if I delete the declaration line.

Is it possible that the GUI cannot handle parametric variables ?

X/Y out of square

After cutting in an X/Y fence, I’ve noticed that my X/Y axis aren’t running square to each other.. I’m approx 1mm out of square over 450mm.

When the machine is homed I have 22mm distance between the gantry and the back end plates on both sides. When the gantry is moved all the way to the front, I have 26mm between the gantry and the rig ht end plate and 29mm to the left end plate. Could this 3mm difference be the reason my X/Y is out of square? If so, how can I fix this?

Dust shoe not touching material/board

Hi, we’ve finally fired our ooznest up in anger and what a piece of kit :)

One question though: We’re mounting the drill bit up to the highlited line, in to the spindle and it’s sticking down below the dust shoe and brush. As we’re cutting the spoil board we have dust escaping.

We’ve lowered the shoe down as low as it will go without falling off the router but there is still a gap! Are we able to insert the drill bit higher into the chuck, past the marked line on the bit, or do we need to buy shorted drill bit? Any advice or help greatly appreciated. Please see the attached photo…

Thanks for the help. PS we’re so looking forward what we can do with this equipment!

Post processor for the Workbee?

Hi,

I’m using Aspire 9.514 with my Workbee and currently use the “Grbl (mm) (*.gcode)” post processor. It works fine but, has the annoying habit of using unsupported M codes in the toolpaths (e.g. M2) and consequently I receive an error code when running it. I can edit the toolpaths to remove the unwanted codes, but would rather they weren’t added in the first place!

So my question is “Is there is a specific post processor available for the Workbee”, If so how do I get it and install it?

Many thanks to anyone who can help.

Hi there.

Been using my work bee milling machine for the last year now making signs for every bodies new pub sheds! Precision was not an issue. I am now making parts for items that need to fit together and I am finding that movement in the x and y axis are not what I have been designing on fusion 360! It seams to be out by 0.6mm! The tool is the correct size. If I cut out a piece that needs to be 100mm square it will come out as 99.4mm square!

How to change from ethernet plugged into PC, to plug into network

Having tried yesterday to simply plug the ethernet connector into a LAN network point, I have realised that this is a lot more complex than I hoped for. The WorkBee IP address http://192.168.251.2/ is not visible on my network. I suspect this is something to do with the Router configuration, or possibly needing to change the Workbee to DHCP. However the online guide to Duet3D looks like the start of a new career!
