Duet Wifi Server Issue

Hi all

Having some issues with a Duet Wifi board, specifically the web control panel has ceased to function (connection constantly being lost, and sometimes the page will not load). My machine has been working fine for about the last year or so and nothing has changed wrt its setup location/networking arrangements.

Wondering if anyone has seen this issue before? I have tried setting it up to provide an access point. Although while it creates a network which I can connect to with good SNR, and I can ping the router IP, the control page still won't open.

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated! in the middle of a slightly time critical task atm.. eeep!

Cheers,

How do I change the X boundaries of WorkBee?

Dear all!

My name is Pim, I’am a CNC newby. Hope you can help me with the following. I like to change the boundaries of my X-axis (Workbee 1000x1500) from 800 to 780 mm because of jamming with my dust extraction. I found a file in SYSTEM for homing. There I can change the dimensions of the machine. But I’am not sure if this is the right/only place where I have toe change things. Anyone a good advise?

Kind regards,

Wire routing improvements planned?

In this step: 5. Wire Routing

when routing the wire as directed the wires are held higher than the x-axis c-extrusion by the strain relief off of the z-axis limit switch causing them to contact the beam and will lead to either friction causing a short circuit or the repetitive strain on the wires causing metal fatigue failure in either the wire itself, the switch terminals, or in the solder joint between the two.

Is there any work being done to resolve this issue, or an alternate wire path that avoids these problems? And if there is an alternative wire path, where can I find it?

Stand alone CAM options? Browser based?

Hi, I use Shaper 3d on my iPad for my 3D design and I’m looking for a CAM software but the recommended VCarve and Carvco don’t really match my needs and seem more focused on carving reliefs and pretty pictures. Having the post processors for workbee backed in is nice though.

I’ll be specifically cutting carbon composite sheet material 99% of the time and may eventually cut some tooling block for moulds or bucks. I have previously and extensively used BobCAM on a machine at work (a CNC-Step High-Z) so I’m familiar with CAM and looking for something more in that vein. But not that cost!

A browser based CAM package would be my preference then I don’t have to use a PC at all but i know the chances are slim.

[edit] I’ve been playing with OpenBuilds CAM but found that it works in a PC browser but not an iPad. It looks like it might be GRBL only too, shame.

Any recommendations please? TIA

CNC Laser and Lightburn

Is there anyone out there who can tell me what I am doing wrong?

I have a Workbee Z+ and have an OptLasers 15W laser attached to it.

When I'm using the laser through Lightburn (Lb), sometimes, when I switch everything on, the laser shows up as 'connected in the 'Laser' window, but sometimes it shows as 'Disconnected'.

Has anyone got any idea on why this is?

By using the laser through Lb, I don't have to keep changing screens to save Gcode and then load Gcode in the Workbee.local window, I can just press 'Start' in Lb. Secondly, because I'm using Lb, it allows me to frame the work on the wood etc.

Many thanks in advance.

I have a weird problem that I can’t figure out, after calibrating X steps/mm, if I pocket a square of 40mm the pocket is 40mm, but a contour of a square is 39mm, in X axis.
Still trying to surface my Spoiler Board .. HELP ;-)

So have cut my test file and indeed a second file from Sketchup via Cut2d. This flagged that my Spoiler board is not true so am now looking to surface it. Watched a great video that Xavier suggested (thanks!) - But I simple cant get it to work. My spoiler Board is as recommend for the 1500xq500 machine- i,e 1360 x 1200. I have repositioned it so that the top right hand corner is below the HOME coordinates. I have even now made a ToolPath that is 1270x1200 so that it is within the safe area (although I have also reset the safe area to 1360-althuogh it seems to only have added this to one side in 3d view?) either way i get that attached - and outside of machine limits. I have followed the fix that is on the forum regarding Z axis..

Can someone please give idiot proof instructions for this.

Screw Conversion Fail Help!

Hello

I’m having multiple problems with my machine after upgraded to screw drive.

1- Axis-Y left side and right side were moving to opposite directions, did try the fix changing the other to S0 and S1 respectively but didn’t help. So for curiosity took the cable from the right side and reversed the connector and worked perfectly. Weird?

2- When I try to jog Axis-X, it moves maybe maximum 10cm from home and then it gives me the Outside Machine Limits Error, Axis Y and Z I can jog them normally. Saw the solution posted already, but the suggested solution is regarding a job, I’m just trying to jog the machine.

3- When homing the machine Axis X and Z moves accordingly (to home) but Axis-Y moves forward (away from home), and it doesn’t help if change to S0 or S1, it always goes forward for homing.

Suggestions? Thanks.

Recurring same size cut on the X axis giving different measurements

Hi There

I am cutting very simple straight lines, I'm taking it nice and slow to get things right, I have written my own gcode and also used Carveco and things are not going right at all!

The attached pictures show what i'm trying to do, basically cut in a zig zag, but what i need is for every line of wood on the X axis to be 6.5mm, i'm using a 1/8" shank bit so I have added 3.175mm to the 6.5mm, so each X axis movement is 9.675mm, thats what is in the gcode and thats also what I told Carveco, but the end product with both of them is what you see in the pictures, a row that is too thin, then a row that is too thick, reaccuring.

This is so frustrating, I have literally spent the entire last 2 days trying to figure this out, I have checked my X axis using different sized movements and all seem ok and true.

Has anyone any ideas as to what is going on here?
