Problem with wifi duet connection and sd card

Hi, I hope you can help. I have an original workbee Z1 screw drive with duet wifi and connection as an access point. This has always been trouble free. But recently a job halted halfway through a cut and disconnected from the workbee.

I have not been able to reconnect since this issue. After doing some checks via yat terminal it turns out the duet could not read from the sd card. I formatted the card and placed the workbee duet server.bin firmware file in the firmware folder and ran M997 S1 to reload the original configuration to the machine as recommended in a previous poster's issue but it said the file could not be read (it is in the correct location and correct filename).

Is there a way to download the complete sd card folder structure and contents from ooznest?

Thank you for any help.

Obviously I can relay switch the power to everything the same way that an E stop button works, but before I do that (and lose the position each time).
Stand alone CAM options? Browser based?

Hi, I use Shaper 3d on my iPad for my 3D design and I’m looking for a CAM software but the recommended VCarve and Carvco don’t really match my needs and seem more focused on carving reliefs and pretty pictures. Having the post processors for workbee backed in is nice though.

I’ll be specifically cutting carbon composite sheet material 99% of the time and may eventually cut some tooling block for moulds or bucks. I have previously and extensively used BobCAM on a machine at work (a CNC-Step High-Z) so I’m familiar with CAM and looking for something more in that vein. But not that cost!

A browser based CAM package would be my preference then I don’t have to use a PC at all but i know the chances are slim.

[edit] I’ve been playing with OpenBuilds CAM but found that it works in a PC browser but not an iPad. It looks like it might be GRBL only too, shame.

Any recommendations please? TIA

T-Track or Screwed Inserts - Recommendations?

I'm thinking of upgrading my basic MDF spoil board and have watched lots of YouTube videos with recommendations for this. Many people use T-Tracks, some use a matrix of screwed inserts - but which is best?

With MDF sitting on top of the extrusions on the base of the Workbee, there is little space for T-Tracks, without compromising height on the Z axis; also these make it difficult to get inserts into the T Track.

Homing of Y axis using 3.3

I have been using the older version of firmware/software for a number of years. I noticed that the gantry drifted out of square over time, so updated the Y axis homing to split the Y axis motors, home each of them independently (over a short distance) applying a small correction factor for the difference in end stop placement, and then recombining the axis motors. Basically meaning that the gantry is squared evry time the Y axis is homed. This relies heavily on the M584 command, which appears to have changed in the latest update.

If I now enter a command such as M584 X0 Y1 Z2 U3 P4 The command appears to execute OK (it gets a tick) and the U axis appears on the dashboard screen. However if I now move the Y axis both U and Y motors turn.

I notice that the new config files define both Y and U axes, but I cannot see where they are combined for normal operation, or determine what the command might be.

Please let me know which command I can use (or other function) to split the axis/motor linkage for this homing purpose, and how they can be recombined.

Any help appreciated.

I am cutting very simple straight lines, I'm taking it nice and slow to get things right, I have written my own gcode and also used Carveco and things are not going right at all!

The attached pictures show what i'm trying to do, basically cut in a zig zag, but what i need is for every line of wood on the X axis to be 6.5mm, i'm using a 1/8" shank bit so I have added 3.175mm to the 6.5mm, so each X axis movement is 9.675mm, thats what is in the gcode and thats also what I told Carveco, but the end product with both of them is what you see in the pictures, a row that is too thin, then a row that is too thick, reaccuring.

This is so frustrating, I have literally spent the entire last 2 days trying to figure this out, I have checked my X axis using different sized movements and all seem ok and true.
