Had the same problem and thought the plug/socket was damaged. The spring in the wire didn’t help. Also the picture does not represent the pcb which was shipped as the socket / chip is in a different orientation.
My solution in the end was disconnect everything and pull the card so I could fit it on the bench, then reassemble. This was the low point of the build but minutes later it was moving under its own power so all forgiven ;-)
