To be honest this is pretty much the only part of the build I struggled with. Done it 3 or 4 times and still not sure I have got it right. Probably obvious to all engineers out there, but I am not an engineer. What exactly are we trying to achieve and what are the implications of not getting this right?
Reference fitting the 43mm Mafell dust shoe adaptor. The holes have not been tapped on the underside of the router mount, or they have been tapped incorrectly. I have tried the M5 Button Head 5mm Bolts and a load of other M5 (even M4) bolts. Nothing will catch a thread. Annoying given I am now fitting this upside down - I suggest this would be much easier to mount BEFORE the router mount assembly is fitted. And as I said threads that will accept a screw!

Some went in with a satisfying click, others not. Some required a lot of force before they were truly seated. I ended up checking each one several times because, I imagine, get this wrong and you are building in an issue that it would be difficult to get past.
