Upgrade problems on a windows 11 laptop

I started a (long overdue) upgrade of my router firmware and got to stage 11, Uploaded the files (Ethernet files as I'm connecting through a USB into an ethernet cable) and it dropped the connection and then never picked it back up.

I thought it might be something to do with the USB/ethernet connection so started through the USB guide in the questions of that stage but ran into a host of problems finding COM3 (thanks Windows11) and now the drivers for the Duet 2 Wi-Fi or ethernet connection have a yellow warning triangle and the YAT program doesn't ever recognise COM3.

What am I missing??

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi Jim,

Thanks for your message.

When you did Step 11, did you check your Ethernet Port settings matched the image? And change them to match if not.

Hi Robert

Thank you for getting back to me, I did update the Ethernet settings using my IP address hat I noted down in step 2.

I only did it via the note pad route in the 2nd image, should I have changed the settings using the protocol box in the first image? (It does say use either route).

If so what should I enter in the protocol box? The IP address that I noted down or the one given as an example.

May thanks, James.
