x-axis not following gcode

Hi,

i have been using my machine since 2020 and has been working well. my last two panels that i have cut, the text seems to have moved back and forth on the x axis but cant figure out why. i have attached a picture of what i mean. Also i once the panel is cut and the machine goes back to the work zero this has shifted on the x - axis (see in attached sketch). but once i home xyz then go to work zero it goes back to the correct work zero which is on the corner of the panel.

Hi Zain,

This is most likely a mechanical issue, I think the fixing on the X-Axis flexible coupler are not tight.

Thanks

the clamp screws on the flexible coupler seem tight but still the same issue occurs could there be another reason?

Hi Zain,

Here would be all the points to check:

1. Make sure the Lead Screws are tensioned correctly as per Steps 6 - 11 in this guide:

2. Testing Your WorkBee

There is also a video here made by a WorkBee user which explains the process: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1MgonULT...

2. Make sure the clamping bolts and grub screws are tight on the flexible couplers. The grub screw should be on the flat portion of the stepper motor shaft

3. Make sure the bearings are lubricated using general bearing grease. We do sell some here: https://ooznest.co.uk/product/bearing-gr...

4. Make sure the eccentric spacers are not clamping the extrusion too tight.

5. Make sure the bolts on the Nut Blocks are not too tight. This can bind the lead screw.

6. Is there any metal/plastic dust anywhere in the drive mechanism which would indicate something wearing?"
