Spoiler board outside machine limits in Z direction

I have a Workbee Z1+ 1000 by 1000 machine. I have managed the first project test cut using one of the bits provided with the machine. I am now trying to cut out a simple shape from 4mm fibreglass and am having some issues.

I have installed a 2.4mm fibreglass appropriate bit but am unable to set work zero using the touchprobe because as soon as I start the touchprobe process it tells me it is outside machine limits.

When using thicker material when I am engraving rather than cutting out this was not a problem.

I have tried moving the stock to the middle to ensure that we are not out of machine limits in the x and y directions without issue and thus have concluded that the z direction is the problem. Based on what I have tried the bit would not cut into the spoiler board because it would be outside machine limits.

I have a Mafell router and have the route mount set at a height of 17mm. I am using SainSmart bits 37mm long.

I have not even reached the point where I am trying to run a specific G code file because I cannot set work zero.

What have I potentially missed?

Thanks!
