X Axis not running square to the Y Axis

I've set up fences on both the X and Y axis to allow me to index workpieces consistently. I've had the machine cut both fences so they should be perfectly square with each other. However, they are very much not square.

I've used calipers and checked that the X gantry is running perpendicular to the Y gantry as per the instructions. But it's still cutting out of square. Am I missing something?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi Josh!

It sounds like your machine is out of square. Even if the X and Y gantries seem perpendicular, the overall frame or gantry may still be skewed. Double-check that the frame is square by measuring diagonals, and ensure the gantry is equally spaced on both sides when moved front to back. Also check for any mechanical play, calibrate your steps/mm, and make sure your spindle is trammed correctly. These are the most common causes of inaccurate or out-of-square cuts.
