Z axis changing and not cutting deep enough

We have a 1500x1500 model that we set up with a piece of scrap yesterday that would mostly cut through the piece.

Now when I set the work xyz on the corner and run it on a piece of 5mm ply it’s cutting 5mm above the ply.

I do move the z 5mm up from the piece once I have set the work xyz so that it doesn’t drag when starting the job, but didn’t think that this would cause an issue as when testing before running it would still return to the set point.

I checked the G code and it has my set z of -5.

I’m at a loss.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi Abbie,

Thanks for your question. With the endmill touch the top of the material, what does your Work Coordinate Z-Axis read?

I think we have it working now, we were originally using the touch probe to set the height but it's wire has disconnected so we had to switch to manually setting the work xyz. Turning off the probe option on the control panel seems to have done the trick!
