Attaching Katsu Router stage

Hello, first time builder of an Ooznest, so I’m taking it slow but have become a bit confused.

I’m at the stage I’m trying to attach the router, but I think I’m either missing a part or I have something installed wrong.

In the box with the Router came the dust guard, but the 65mm 3D printed collar doesn’t fix inside the guard and I’m a little confused on how the collar would be clamped to the mount as there isn’t a way to attach it via the four screws. Do need to disregard the collar and just clamp the router via the M8-Cap-Head-25mm Bolt on the mount?

Thanks for the reply

Hi Dave,

Thanks for your email.

The Katsu, just sits straight inside the aluminium mount. The printed collar is only needed if you have the Dust Shoe.

Yes, that is ok and fits on to the Katsu but the confusion is how the 3D printed collar is attached to the router mount as there is no location holes for the 4 screw, its just a collar that i have,

Hi Dave,

The collar would sit inside your dust shoe. Then the Dust Shoe clamps around the collar onto your router.

yes, but the internal diameter of the dust shoe is 64.5mm while the external of the collar is 68 when compressed. The internal diameter of the collar would be correct at 65mm, so the collar is 2 wall thicknesses too wide.

I also have an issue with the bed supports, the intrusion state :

1000mm X-Axis

Supported - Unsupported - Supported

In the kit i received, i was given 2x960's and 2x665, so i believe the 665's were sent in error and should be 920ish, i'm missing another 960 for the unsupported beam going by your instructions, am i correct in thinking this?

@davemooney The internal diameter of the dust shoe is incorrect. That should be 69mm. The External Diameter of the collet is correct.

If the internal diameter of your Dust is 64.5mm, then it should clamp around the Katsu without an adaptor.

For your spoiler board supports, are you sure the machine you have is a 1000mm x axis? Them lengths correspond to a 750mm x-axis.

Can you contact us here with your order id and we can double-checkhttps://ooznest.co.uk/help/ what you should have:

Right, thats what i was trying to explain in the original message regarding the router. I've now contacted youselfs via the support option regarding the supports.

Thanks for the help :-)
