Touch Probe facing the wrong way

When using the touch probe the calibration goes the wrong way.

For example if I put the touch probe on the front left the mdf it goes the wrong way to touch the probe. So when I set the software to be back right it touch the touch probe correctly and finds the correct start position. However by doing this, when the test file is uploaded, on the g-code viewer, the part goes off the bed and goes diagonal away from the start position as if that is the start position of the back right. When I use the touch probe on front left mode the bit just goes diagonal away from the touch probe and proceeds to lower to touch the Z axis but it is no longer over the probe.

I hope this makes sense.

Thanks

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for your question.

That is strange it should not do that. Have you changed anything on your machine, like the custom homing position, custom limit switch position or anything like that?

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for your comment.

Lets confirm the probe is working, by just probing the Z-Axis to start off with.

Can you do that by following this step here please: Assembling Your Original WorkBee XYZ Touch Probe

Let me know if that works correctly.

@robertooznest

The Z probe works fine when the probe is set to 'back right' and event taps the correct sides of the z probe (but then is facing the wrogn way in the software). The problem is that when set to 'front left' the tool procceds to move away from the z probe and misses it completly so I have to emergency stop the machine before it crashes into the bed. It has never failed to stop once it touches the probe however.

@dj9776 Hi Daniel, Thanks for your comment, sorry for the late reply, I just wanted to run some physical tests.

If I run the probe on the back right corner it works correctly.

If I then run the probe on from the left corner it also works correctly.

So I can't replicate the issue you are having.

If you go to Settings > General.

Is your WorkBee Control version: WorkBee Control 3.3.0 - V1.2

And if you go to Settings > Machine Specific are your versions as follows:

Board: Duet 2 WiFi (2WiFi)

Firmware: RepRapFirmware for Duet 2 WiFi/Ethernet 3.3 (2021-06-15)

Duet WiFi Server Version: 1.26

System Settings Version: 1.2
