Hi Clement,

Sorry to hear about the issues you are having.

Is this issue on the first setup, or has it been operating correctly in the past?

We need to figure out if this is related to homing the machine or a mechanical issue. Can you please do the following:

- Home the machine
- Press 'Go To Work Zero'
- Mark this position
- Jog the machine a significant distance away from this position. (Do not home the machine)
- Press 'Go To Work Zero'
- Does it go back to the same position or is it a few mm off?

- Repeat the above multiple times, do not home the machine in-between

Hi,

Thanks for your email.

It is likely that your issue is caused by a mechanical issue, I have provided the standard things to check below.  If you can please work though these one-by-one and let me know how you get on?

Is this issue on the first setup, or has it been operating correctly in the past?

Please can you check all the following points:

1. Make sure the clamping bolts and grub screws are tight on the flexible couplers. The grub screw should be on the flat portion of the stepper motor shaft

2. Make sure the eccentric spacers are not clamping the extrusion too tight. Please adjust the eccentric spacers as follows:

- Set all the eccentric spacers to their widest position

- Slightly loosen the bolts holding wheels on the aluminium spacer side

- Adjust the eccentric spacers so all the wheels (both sides) are slightly touching the extrusion.

- Tighten the bolts holding wheels on the aluminium space side

- Check the eccentric spacers so all the wheels (both sides) are slightly touching the extrusion.

- As you start using the machine, the wheels "bed in", recheck the eccentric spacers at regular intervals, to ensure the wheels are not too tight or too loose. Repeat the above as necessary.

3. Make sure the bolts on the Nut Blocks are not too tight. This can bind the lead screw.

4. Is there any metal/plastic dust anywhere in the drive mechanism which would indicate something wearing?
