The WorkBee Screw Conversion kit is intended to convert an older style belt drive V1.0 WorkBee, to a new V2.0 WorkBee.
-
To convert a V1.0 WorkBee to a V2.0 old WorkBee, the Y-End-Plates, and Y-Plates will need reversing. Therefore we recommend dis-assembling these plates completely.
-
In addition, remove the X-Axis NEMA23 Stepper Motor and any parts associated with the belt transmission system.
-
Once the above plates and parts have been disassembled, follow the Archive - Assembling Your WorkBee - V2.0, carefully comparing the images and text to what you have in front of you.
-
What you have in front of you should exactly match the guides.
-
Please continue to follow all the software setup guides, as the system settings will be different.

I’m converting our belt drive Workbee 1050 to screw drive. Are there any instructions for the cabling up? It seems to me that part of it at least is coincident with the mechanical build, so that we can test and fine tune, but no instruction that I can find.
Hi Rob,
I would advise looking through our Z1+ assembly manual here: Original WorkBee Z1+ Assembly Manual - V1.0
You can look at how that is wired, and wire it in the same way.

Does the “Y-Plates will need reversing” phrase applies also when only the X axis is getting converted?
Hi @federico77 - They will need to be reversed too, This is mentioned here - To convert a V1.0 WorkBee to a V2.0 old WorkBee, the Y-End-Plates, and Y-Plates will need reversing. Therefore we recommend disassembling these plates completely.
