You probably solved it already, but in case anyone else wonders as well: You should use the instructions that matches your WorkBee (and not laptop). So in your case it would be “Uploading System Settings for Ethernet".
The Duet uses multicast DNS (mDNS, aka Bonjour), so that you can also connect to http://workbeecncmachi.local if you don’t know the IP address of the Duet.
See the yellow dot in “Step 1 Fixing the Cable Ties into position”, there is a hole and tie for the ethernet cable.
If you have the touch probe, you might want to connect it as well before attaching the fans.
If you route the Z-Limit-Switch wire as instructed here it will rub agains the drag chain, no matter how snug you make it, as the drag chain attached directly to the X-Plate-Back without any spacing. I suggest pulling the Z-Limit-Switch wire on the thin side of the X-Plate-Back (almost where shown in the picture, just a few mm to the right). I think it would would be better if some some space was added between the drag chain and the X-Plate-Back.
I taped all wires together with masking tape at the wire ends and fed them all at the same time before attaching the drag chain.
The power supply design has apparently changed. Like Gwilym says, the power supply wire has a male end and bare ends. The male end should be in the drag chain end with the holes, like in the picture here (where there is a female end in the picture) and the bare ends should be in the drag chain end with the notches. Replace “female end” with “male end” in the instructions to get all wires the correct way.
If you have the touch probe, then you might want to install it in this step. When installing the touch probe you are going to remove two of the Aluminium-Spacer-40mm:s, and replace them with the probe connector and shorter spacers.
I’m not sure what Oscar is refering to. I could pull the wire any way wanted at any stage, and when it was time to do the wire routing.
However, I noted that the limit switch wire will rub agains the X-axis C-beam, unless you bend the parts where the wires are attached to the limit switch. I slightly bent the wires towards each other which just barely gave clearance to not rub against the axis.
I wonder if Darren was assembling another kit, as I followed the instructions to the point and had no issue. I carefully examined both plates and they are identical. The other one just has to be assembled mirrored (as stated in the manual).
