Very noisy movement on X axis

I've just competed the build of my 750 x 750 Workbee. After homing all three axes separately and together I can jog the Z assembly side to side along the X axis without too much noise (I assume there is a certain amount as normal?) However, if I use the "Home X" button it pretty much howls at me. I've tried slackening and retightening the screw blocks, made no difference. With the power off the screw turns easily at the flexible coupler. Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Mick,

Thanks for troubleshooting the issue beforehand.

It could be related to the bolts holding the nut blocks or the tension of the lead screw. If they are too tight, it can squash the nut block and pinch the lead screw. If you're following the guide, can you try loosening these bolts slightly and rechecking the tension after adjusting the nut block bolts is advisable?

After performing these checks and adjustments, please test the "Home X" function again. Let me know how it goes.

Hi Cyndy,

Thanks very much for the response. I retensioned the lead screw and slackened the screw blocks, then gently retightened them until there was no movement in the Z assembly. I also found not all of the wheels on the X carriage were rotating, some were just skidding along. I retentioned all the eccentric spacers so each wheel now turns, things are much quieter.

Thanks again.
