Impossible to Calibrate Y Axis

Hello,

I have issues calibrating Y Axis on a 1000x1000,

I followed the Step/mm Guide, reporting correct values in customconfig.g, using a 60x60 square. Everytime I’m not squared, with big gaps, for example 58.78 or 64.88.

Tensionning is done, and X axis is pretty close to reality. Do I miss something ?

Thx for your precious help

Guillaume

Finally I found the solution, it wasn’t working using customconfig but ok in config, even with exactly the same line, weird…

Thx

Hi Guillaume,

If you leave the settings the same, and cut 3 x 60mm squares, what size do all 3 come out at?

Hi Robert,

I’ve made a new test, on 3x 40x40 Squares, and from right to left:

  • Square 1 is X40.45 and Y 40.30
  • Square 2 is X40.40 and Y 40.30
  • Square 3 is X40.38 and Y 40.30

Each time I modify settings, I’m under or over 40, never exactly 40. However, I’m using MDF for the tests, and I guess it’s not very accurate for testing. My tests are made with a 3.17mm Endmill.

Thanks very much for your help

Best

Guillaume

Hi,

Thanks for doing this. Your Y-Axis looks fine, just need to adjust your steps/mm slightly.

Your X-Axis is within our machine accuracy of 0.1m. Your deviation is 0.7mm. I think there still may be a small amount of backlash in the X-Axis. But I would adjust your steps/mm in a similar fashion to the y-axis.
