First couple of passes not engaging with material

Hi - when I upload a job, the first couple of passes are often not engaging with the material surface I’d like to cut. I’m trying to just cut out some basic clamps from a sheet of MDF wood.

I’ve designed the pieces using VCarve Pro; I’ve then used a touch probe in the bottom left corner of the material, and then clicked ‘Go to work Zero’; the end mill then becomes flush with the surface/corner of the material I’m cutting. No issues there.

When I then go to run the job, the machine will then begin by outlining the shapes I’m trying to cut - BUT 5mm+ ABOVE the material itself.

The result is that the shapes are then not cut out from the rest of the board.

I’d be grateful for some advice here.

Have I inputted the wrong figures at some point while designing the clamps in VCarve?

Have I not got the router/endmill installed correctly? Is there some other issue with the hardware?

Thank you

Will

Hi Will,

You have been emailing us directly about this one. It looks like it was solved by tightening the grub screws on the flexible coupler and adjusting the endmill.
