Help! My CNC thinks it is a 3d printer

I am setting up a preowned Workbee that I just bought. I managed to connect to it by direct access but the control panel displayed is clearly for a 3d printer.

I checked the config.g and it does contain the M453 line, not commented out.

Is the config file read and applied at power up or how do I get it to change to CNC mode.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Btw, I have used the M450 command and it does say that it is in CNC mode but I am still getting the 3d printer web interface, not the CNC version.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for your question. When we first switched to the Duet in 2019, we did run the 3D Printer interface until we developed our own.

You could update your firmware following this guide to get onto our latest software: How To Update WorkBee Firmware V1.0.7 > V3.3.0-1.2

Ok, I tried that but the update has gone wrong.

I got to step 4 and got to the CNC screen but the connection is totally unstable and is continually connecting and disconnecting and so I am unable to do anything. I have added a picture if that helps.

btw, it is a WiFi connection. Also I don't seem to be able to connect with YAT as it always says that 'Port not available'

Hi Steve,

Ok, I think one of the steps has been missed or failed which is causing this.

Turn off the machine, take out the SD Card and put it into your computer.

Delete the www folder and replace it with this www folder: https://we.tl/t-VZ0yVRlroT

Then start this guide again: How To Update WorkBee Firmware V1.0.7 > V3.3.0-1.2

Thanks

Thank you, that has solved the connectivity issue and I am now connected. I just need to sort the fact that it won't home.

@stevecrozier Hi Steve,

Great, have you checked your limit switches as per Step 17: How To Update WorkBee Firmware V1.0.7 > V3.3.0-1.2

by

I checked the switches and they work correctly - however........

As I had regained connectivity I thought I would complete the upgrade to V3.3. I did this, following all the instructions and it seemed to go ok, everything went as described. I now have the latest control screen and connectivity is stable - but ...

When I try to home it will not do so because it says "homing not enabled". On the endstop status there is nothing to say whether the switches are triggered or not.

How do I enable the endstops? I know they are mechanically and electrically ok as they have worked before.
