Hello

I’m having multiple problems with my machine after upgraded to screw drive.

1- Axis-Y left side and right side were moving to opposite directions, did try the fix changing the other to S0 and S1 respectively but didn’t help. So for curiosity took the cable from the right side and reversed the connector and worked perfectly. Weird?

2- When I try to jog Axis-X, it moves maybe maximum 10cm from home and then it gives me the Outside Machine Limits Error, Axis Y and Z I can jog them normally. Saw the solution posted already, but the suggested solution is regarding a job, I’m just trying to jog the machine.

3- When homing the machine Axis X and Z moves accordingly (to home) but Axis-Y moves forward (away from home), and it doesn’t help if change to S0 or S1, it always goes forward for homing.

Suggestions? Thanks.

Hi Robert

So I'm attaching a picture of my File Management as you suggested and the RepRapFirmaware it says: Firmware: RepRapFirmware for Duet 2 WiFi/Ethernet 3.3 (2021-06-15).

Did try the Update again and the Axis-Y homing problem is solved (sort of), but I still get some errors.

For example, Axis-X if I jog it to one direction (say left), it will go like say 4-5 times then the following goes Right, and then after that might still go Left again, completely random movement. Also I get this “sometimes”: Warning: motor phase B may be disconneted reported by driver(s) 0.

With Axis-Y theres is a similar problem, when jogging it, both drivers might move same direction, but then they might go opposite directions and then same direction again, complety random.

When homing all axis moves as it should (but it depends on the last movement, if the last movement was in a wrong direction then the specific Axis will home to the opposite direction. Axis-Z seems not to have any probem (I think)

First, check the status of the Ethernet Module by sending command "M552" to Duet.

If Duet returns Wifi or Ethernet module is disabled, put it into idle mode it by sending command "M552 S0". If it returns Wifi or Ethernet module is idle, proceed to the next step.

Send the Command M552 S1 P''-ipadress''

We have sent M552 S1 P192.168.2.12

The final number of this IP address has to be different from the final number of the IP used on the ethernet port configuration. We used 192.168.2.14 on our ethernet port, so have used 192.168.2.12 on the Duet.

Send M552 to confirm the Network is enabled and connected to the correct IP Address.

This is what I did to setup DHCP using ethernet via a Powerline adapter

Connect ethernet cable to powerline adapter

Using YAT & USB

M552 S0 to disable networking, then

M552 S1 P0.0.0.0 to enable networking and have your router assign an IP address via DHCP.

M552 to check IP address allocated

Log into machine using web brower

Put the following line into config-network.g file and save

M552 S1 P0.0.0.0 ; enable DHCP

Log onto your router, set the IP address for the Workbee as DHCP, but permanent

DIsconnect YAY/USB cable

You should then be able to login using the same IP address each time.

Step 5: X Wheels & X-Plate-Front

If you have the full kit version of the WorkBee, please complete Step 4 of https://learn.ooznest.co.uk/Guide/4.+Limit+Switch+Assembly+&+Mounting/90?lang=en#s422.

First attach the bottom right wheel set - insert a M5-Low-Profile-60mm bolt through the X-Plate-Front through the side with the insets. On to this, add an Eccentric Spacer-6mm, Precision-Shim, Solid-V-Wheel-Xtreme-Assembly, Aluminium Spacer 9mm, Solid-V-Wheel-Xtreme-Assembly, Precision Shim, and an Eccentric-Spacer 6mm in this order.

Next add the X-Plate-Back-Assembly onto the top of this assemblage, add a Precision-Shim and then slightly thread on a M5-Nyloc-Nut. The rounded portion of the Eccentric-Spacer-6mm should be inserted into the hole on either the X-Plate-Front or X Plate-Back-Assembly (depending on which side it is on).

Repeat for the other wheel set on the bottom row corner.

Repeat for the 2 wheel sets on the top row, however for these sets use Aluminium-Spacer-6mms instead of Eccentric-Spacer-6mms.

Once all of the wheels are attached the M5-Nyloc-Nuts can be tightened down. Ensure that the Solid-V-Xtreme-Wheels can still rotate freely. On the hexagonal portion of the Eccentric-Spacer-6mm, there will be one face that is marked with ‘6mm’.

In the same method as the Y-Plates, using a spanner, adjust each Eccentric-Spacer-6mm so that this face is facing downwards. Doing this maximizes the gap between the top and bottom row of wheels.
